On Feb 16, 2018, Surfrider sent over 80 members from 26 chapters to Capitol Hill. This group, representing 18 states, met with members of Congress to urge them to support legislation aimed at protecting our oceans and beaches. They discussed legislation focused on stopping new offshore drilling, protecting clean water and public health, and stopping the rollback of funding for ocean protections and reductions in plastic pollution.

Malcolm Taylor represented the Ocean City MD chapter and met with the offices of all 6 representatives and both senators. Congress as a whole certainly has its issues, but MD is very fortunate to have some conscientious and forward -thinking legislators.

Never think that one voice is too small or insignificant to make a difference. With the continued support of our members and volunteers, Surfrider OC MD will do everything we can to promote clean water & healthy beaches for all.
