Surfrider Foundation Awards Maryland a 'B'

The beach report rates communities on their climate change preparation.
The goal of the report is to give communities recommendations on how to prepare for future climate change effects. The Maryland coast which includes Ocean City and a portion of Assateague received a 'B'.

The article quotes Malcolm Taylor, vice chairman of the Surfrider Foundation Ocean City chapter, stating he was pleased with Maryland's rating. Taylor believes that the city should also focus on monitoring development on the bayside and consider natural buffers. He believes that the Surfrider report is a helpful tool.
