POSITION FILLED: Beach cleanup coordinator - Our chapter is seeking a volunteer to help lead our beach cleanup program. This would include:
- Working with the Executive Committee to plan beach cleanup events
- Help advertise and recruit volunteers
- Attending cleanup events, setting up tables, helping with check-in and loaning out cleanup gear
- Working with volunteers to weigh debris collected during the cleanup
- Entering cleanup data into Surfrider’s Beach Cleanup Tool database
- Communicating the results of our efforts to our members
Social media coordinator - Our chapter is seeking a volunteer to help oversee our social media accounts. This would include:
- Working with our team of current social media volunteers to schedule consistent content across all of our social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram currently)
- Growing our following and engagement across all platforms
- Creating graphics when needed for advertising our events
Ocean-Friendly Restaurant team - Our chapter is hoping to grow the ocean-friendly restaurant program in Ocean City and Maryland and could use a few volunteers to help advance this effort! Being part of the team would include:
- Reaching out to restaurants in OC / MD who might be interested in joining the OFR program
- Explaining the OFR requirements and answering questions restaurant owners may have about the program
- Assisting restaurants with the sign-up process
- Taking photos at registered ocean friendly restaurants for social media / our chapter's website
